Chess News Network
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Chess News Network ("we", "us") collects when you use chessnewsnetwork.com, and what we do with it.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to The Daily Move we collect your email address and the page you signed up from. We use it only to send you the newsletter. We store subscriber addresses in our database and use an email service provider to deliver the emails. We do not sell your address or share it for third-party marketing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also ask us to delete your address through the contact page.
Contact form
If you write to us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Analytics
We record page views and clicks on our own social links to understand which stories readers value. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. We also use Google tags to measure the performance of our advertising, for example whether a visitor who arrived from a Google ad subscribed to the newsletter.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads through Google AdSense and promote the site with Google Ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which can include ads based on your previous visits to this or other sites. You can manage personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com or learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Browser storage and notifications
We store small preferences in your browser, such as light or dark theme and whether you dismissed the newsletter prompt. If you turn on breaking-news alerts, your browser gives us a push subscription token so we can send notifications; you can turn alerts off at any time in your browser settings.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you are in the EU, UK or California you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honour valid requests.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date below when we do.
